Jazzin’ it up Alone AGain

April 30, 2012 § Leave a comment

I talk about a show from last season called Health and Physical Education for 30 Year Olds alone.

Basically, I was like “fuck it, nobody listens to our show anyways, might as well just have some music I like going on in the background.” Perhaps the music was a bit too loud, but if you liked it, it’s called Jabberloop.

Black Jack Final – We love you Dezaki

Hai gaiz, we’re back again.

We review the OVA that Osamu Dezaki directed from the grave. Just like Mark Twain, his ghost continues to make anime.

This is what I was squeeing at.

And you should all thank Tehping for translating the first volume of Gundam Unicorn. Seriously.

Slow Kung-fu For the Ladies: COBURA

This episode goes all over the place.

But somewhere in here we talk about Dezaki’s classic anime feature film, Space Adventure Cobra.

Maybe I’ll throw in show notes or something later.

Alone AGain: We Still Love Jon CJG

February 20, 2012 § Leave a comment

I am once more Alone AGain as I discuss Jon CJG.

I did an episode like this way back in July 2011 which you can find here.

I talk about Season 6 of Arby n the Chief. (which the staff at Machinima labeled as Season 7 but we call Season 6 because Arby n the Chief in LA sucks).

Around a minute in, I played a promo for the Kool Kids Klub podcast (they spell it Cool Kids Club, but that destroys the acronym so screw that). (also I am on that show like all the time).

There is some hilarious background noise that is just my dogs eating.

Crayon Shin Chan: The Adult Empire Strikes Back

This 2001 movie is a spectacular thrill ride that will make you laugh and will make you cry, which meets Master Chief’s standard for a great movie.

Gundam AGE Season 1

February 3, 2012 § 5 Comments

In today’s episode of AG, we discuss a show that basically everyone on the Internet hates because they are awful. We think it’s great.

Also, this is important.

Sorry we didn’t review Shin Chan when we said we would. Some crazy stuff went down with the Shin Chan recording so it didn’t work out. We’ll get to Shin Chan eventually.

It’s a Redline Day – MAZZAFAKKA!

January 14, 2012 § 12 Comments

We are like, a year late to the bandwagon or something, but in today’s episode we discuss the 2009 or was it 2010? Nobody really knows. But we discuss Redline, which is basically Jesus for anime.

The music selection:

Oh yeah, and Andy has just grown into another year and is one step closer to his otaku expiration date.

Alone AGain Christmas: Gundam 0080

Instead of spending our time with our families in celebrating this Anglo-American/Pagan tradition, we have decided to record a show at what is 4 AM for Andy.

That aside, we discuss what is probably the best Gundam show ever made.

2011 in Review

December 10, 2011 § Leave a comment

This episode of the Anime Graruru is a little bit crazy, not only in that it is an hour long, but also in that it is an attempt to discuss the Anime of 2011. I suppose it did get a little weird throughout this recording, since it is a little bit more raw than AG normally is, but whatever.

Aside from that, Anime Graruru, or rather, Area Graruru, is five years old now. So wooot.

We talked about so much in this episode, and I suppose that there could be a lot in terms of show notes, but we’re not that into show notes…. but here is the season’s line up pics.

Winter 2010-11
Spring 2011
Summer 2011
Fall 2011
Winter 2011-12

In essentially just going through each list randomly, we both reaffirm our belief in the future, but also gain a sense of melancholic frustration in the present.

Music:
Intro – “Bowl Man” by some old Salarymen (IKZO)
Outro – “Natsu Yuzora” by some old Japanese guy who eats rice, and stays longingly at fields of wheat (Kosuke Atari)
